Welcome to BurlyCon!

Your plane has landed. You’ve collected your luggage and successfully checked-into the hotel (which is just across the street from the airport. So convenient!) Now what? 

It’s time to get settled in! The hotel itself is split into three parts–two hotel buildings and the convention center, which is across the parking lot in a separate building but connected to the hotel via a covered (not enclosed) walkway. Hotel Registration is in the main building. Once you’ve settled into your room, it’s time to check-in for BurlyCon at the convention center! Go over toward the parking lot and up the elevator, where once the doors open you’ll be greeted into the halls of burlesque heaven. And, conveniently, the Registration desk is directly in front of you!   

Registration

To get to the convention center, cross the parking lot via the walkway. Upon entering the building, take the elevator up to the 2nd floor. As the doors open, you’ll be greeted into the halls of burlesque heaven–or also known as, BurlyCon. 

The BurlyCon Registration desk will be in the same place all weekend so no matter what day you arrive you’ll be able to check-in. Usually, the line is divided by name but if it isn’t too busy you can simply head to the counter and pick up your badge. Make sure you have your ID on you!

Pro-tip: Since the convention center is a short walk from the hotel, make sure to have a small bag of your daily items. Keep a refillable water bottle, notebook, pen, ID, cash for vending and networking cards with you. You don’t want to be running back and forth between classes and your room. Plan accordingly! 

Registration hours: 

Thursday 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM 

Friday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM 

Saturday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM 

Sunday Closed

Hospitality

Replenish, rejuvenate, and re-hydrate in the hospitality suite. We want to make sure you have brain food to keep up with all the fantastical knowledge you’re here to gain. The Hospitality Room is located in the St. Helen’s Suite which is found on the 3rd floor of the main hotel building (sitting over the Elliot rooms on the 1st floor). Hospitality offers you a space where you can recharge, rest, and socialize in a low-pressure way. Complimentary PB&J, veggies, and coffee will be available. In addition there will be a selection of convenient essentials available for purchase at the BurlyCon Snack Bar! Bring a few dollars for some grab-and-go ready-to-eat snacks. There will be $1, $3, and $5 snack options.

BurlyBar

In the evenings the Hospitality Room transforms into BurlyBar! If you’re looking for a cheap drink or a place to socialize before the events look no further than the BurlyBar. The BurlyBar bartenders will be serving up specialty cocktails, as well as wine, beer, and mixed drinks. Bring your cash and credit and stop on by!

Check the schedule for Hospitality and Burly Bar hours. And be aware that Hospitality will be closed briefly for the Class Photo on Friday night. If you have questions, there is always a volunteer in the Hospitality room to help.

Study Hall

BurlyCon is pleased to present the BurlyCon Study Hall. The study hall is a relaxed space where you can sit down, review and compare class notes, share ideas, and collaborate with other attendees. Intended for contemplation and focus, the study hall is a great place to process information from the class lectures at your own pace and to take a moment to rewind and reflect from the hustle bustle of the weekend.

Vendor Fair

Brace yourselves for the lively, the sparkly–the Vendor Fair! Home to well over 20 vendors, this is the place to be if you need a new sparkly anything! Rhinestoned bras, pasties for days, and enough glitter to be seen from the moon. Don’t forget to bring cash. Some vendors accept cards but cash is always preferred. There is an ATM on site. 

The Vendor Fair is located in the main convention area and will be open select hours all weekend. Check the schedule for times and see who’s selling their wares HERE.
